MO Poll

Display the right poll

MO Poll is a small module used in place of the Most recent poll block of the core. It extends the capabilities of the default poll block by selecting the most recent poll in link with your current page using the terms selected on your page and your polls.

The MO Poll module searches all the polls that have terms in common with the page being displayed. It works for nodes and taxonomy term pages. If no poll is found to correspond to the page or term being displayed, then a default action is taken: display the latest still active poll, display a randomly chosen poll, one of the latest polls defined as any one poll with no terms in common, or hide the block completely.

Note that the randomly chosen poll feature is used with all polls, including those that have no terms attached. This is a way to use this module that allows for any one poll1 to appear instead of just the latest (in case you create multiple polls and want all of them to have an equal chance of being shown.)

• Fallback actions when no active poll was found:
  • Return nothing (no block displayed)
  • Return the default Poll block (the most recent poll)
  • Return a random poll among all the active polls
  • Return one of the most recent poll
• Vocabularies with a hierarchy can be used. This module checks for each term and all their children.
• The vocabulary comparison is fully automated. No need for selecting anything.
